Another coastal walk on the Forth, this time from Carriden to Blackness and back again, having visited Blackness Castle (which used to guard the seaport that served Linlithgow in its royal days). Have a look at this link for details.The intention is to walk along the coastal path from Carriden to Blackness Castle, visit the castle if you want to, or just picnic in the glorious weather I have planned, and then walk back by the same route.

Where to meet: We will meet in Carriden village, West Lothian, parking at Carriden Parish Church, on the corner of Carriden Brae and Bridgeness Road. If you want toilets look for the following options before getting to Carriden:

When to meet: 12.30am aiming to start walking around 1.

The meal: I have booked The Four Mary's in Linlithgow (thanks to John C for the recommendation) for 5 for 5.30. Their website is here.The menu is on the site. If you can name all four Mary's before you get to the restaurant (surnames too, smarty-pants), you'll get extra chips!

What if it's wet?:Optionally drive to Blackness and still visit the Castle, or go to Linlithgow.

How to get to the walk: The postcode of the parish church is EH51 9SL. You can reach Carriden via the A803 and A904 from junction 3 off the M9.
