The event

30th May 2009 , Newtonmore

Thanks to Pete and Morag for setting up this day out, which proved to be a great location to enjoy the fabulous weather we were granted. How long before Muddy Boots has such a warm and sunny day again? Previously all our sunny photographs were from winter trips!

We met at the car park at the end of Glen Road, which took us from Newtonmore Main Street up into the hills. We had our picnic by the river to let the late-comers catch up, and then walked up the gentle River Calder, then the steeper Allt Fiondrigh to climb Creag Liath for the views. It was all done in beautiful warm sunshine, see the gallery below for evidence.

The Highlander Hotel did us a fine tea, and those of us driving home still had beautiful weather for the journey.

Who was there? :

Pete, Chris, Veronica, Rachel Nicholson
Mary and James Kean
Alistair, Morag and Elspeth, and the runaway dogs
Alexander and Grace
Philippa and Scamp
